Valor Bowl
Please come out to support our selected senior football players at this year's Believe & Achieve Valor Bowl to be held on Thursday June 1st, 2017 at West Chester University. The Valor Bowl has raised over $450,000 for Special Olympics.   This year's game promises to be another exciting and memorable evening. Come out and show our school's support for a great cause…the Special Olympics. UHS participants will be Jesse Gill, Zach Nance, Bryce McManus, Trevor Gardiner, James Watson, Matt Dauphin, Mike Cresta and Robby Maxwell.
 
Senior Dinner Dance
Seniors, please check your school email for information regarding the senior dinner dance. The event will be held on June 5. This is a FREE event for seniors. If you have not picked up your tickets please see Mrs. Brown in 355.

Please join us for a community celebration and send-off for the Unionville High School Graduating Seniors. This is a very special time for us to come together as family - as friends - as a community - to bless and celebrate these students for their hard work, steadfast love and amazing achievements. A wonderful hour of inspirational speakers and musical performances. Reflect, give thanks and send prayerful blessing to these students as they venture onward....
 
AmeriKids Summer Camp

Open  5th - 11th graders. The Amerikids mission is to build core values in the youth of Chester County including girls of all backgrounds and abilities in grades 5 through 12. See Flyer for details.Amerikids Summer Camp.pdf 

School Vaccination requirements

There are some major changes in our PA State immunization requirements for the 2017/2018 school year.  Please be sure your child has updated vaccinations and send documentation of these updated vaccinations to the school nurse.   Please see the attached flyer for the new requirements.  Please call or email our school  nurse,  Allison Newbrough, with any questions or concerns at 610-347-1600 Ext. 3058 for anewbrough@ucfsd.net.

Senior Awards Night
A program to recognize outstanding achievement by members of the Class of 2017 will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, in the high school auditorium. This event is a time when our external Community Partners present awards and scholarships. Parents of seniors being honored will receive a written invitation to attend the program. All parents and members of the class are invited to attend.
 
UHS Dodge Ball Challenge
Staying home on Memorial Day Weekend? Then come support a great cause and have LOTS of FUN after school on Friday, May 26th!  Sign up for the UHS Dodge Ball Challenge that will be held in the UHS Main Gym beginning at 3pm. 
This tournament is open to both Unionville and Patton students! We will run separate tournaments for high school and middle school students/ 
The cost is $5 a person and teams are limited to 10 people max. 
This event is brought to you by the UHS Backpacks for Barrett Town Club and all proceeds will be used to purchase school supplies for orphaned and underprivileged children in Jamaica!
Registration Forms are available in the UHS and Patton Main Office and if you register by May 19th, you'll be entered to win a $25 Dunkin Donuts Gift Card!

Senior Stroll and Senior Picnic
This year, we are starting a new UHS tradition, "The Senior Stroll." On Tuesday, May 30, students will arrive to school at their normal time. Students will load a bus which will take them back to their grade school for a stroll through the hallways in their Commencement cap and gown. Each of the elementary school principals and staffs are so excited to see our members of the Class of 2017 again, and they have big plans for their visit. Upon return to UHS, we will have our Senior Picnic and distribute yearbooks to the members of the Class of 2017.

PTO Co-Chairs needed
The UHS PTO is still in need of After Prom co-chairs for the upcoming school year.
This important event cannot be run without many volunteers and a couple of people leading the way. Thank you for your consideration of becoming a part of a great UHS tradition and the leaders of this event aimed at keeping our children safe and off the roads on the night of prom. Please contact Kim Lauder to express interest or ask questions about the responsibilities involved.
 
After Prom
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED or After Prom will have to shut down several areas at 2:00am
 
If more volunteers do not sign up for the second shift of After Prom, we will have to close down some areas.  One of the main areas in need is Security, which is mainly securing the exits to prevent students from going outside.  After Prom requires the help from hundreds of people and a huge THANK YOU to those people who have already signed up for a shift or two.  But we still need a lot more help!  Please click on the link right away to see how you can help.

Please consider making a monetary donation to After Prom. This free event is made possible through fundraising efforts. You may either send a check with your student payable to UHS After Prom or you can click  here  to donate using PayPal link.

Cappies
The Greater Philadelphia Cappies Gala will be held on May 21st at 4:30pm at Unionville High School.

The Greater Philadelphia Cappies is an organization that allows student critics to enjoy high school's productions in the area and vote for award recipients. Eligible shows must perform between mid-October and mid-April, with voting taking place soon after. After votes are tallied, schools nominated for Best Musical, Best Play, and Best Song are asked to prepare material to present in front of the entire region during the season's award ceremony, The Cappies Gala. REMINDER - today, May 8th is the last day to RSVP for the UHS PTO Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. Please respond to Kim Lauder at kimlauder@verizon.net to indicate you can attend. We hope to see you Thursday, May 11th at noon in the cafeteria LGI.

The UHS PTO invites and welcomes all UHS PTO volunteers to our final meeting of the year and a delicious lunch provided courtesy of the UHS PTO.
We want to thank our wonderful volunteers for all you do to make our school a better place for our kids, the staff and us parents.
Any UHS parent who has volunteered, in any way, whether it was working a shift at one of our many events, serving as a committee chair or being on the Executive Board is welcome and encouraged to attend!
Dr. Sanville will speak at the meeting and has an overview of key measures, in essence a State of the District report,  he would like to share with all stakeholders. We will also vote in the new UHS PTO Executive Board, discuss After Prom and go over all outstanding PTO business.
Kindly respond to Kim Lauder, at kimlauder@verizon.net, by May 8th to indicate you will attend so food can be ordered appropriately.
We look forward to seeing you on the 11th!

UHS Boys Lacrosse 
Come out and support the Varsity boys' lacrosse team as they take on cross-town rival Kennett
HS on Thursday, May 4th .Game time is approximately 7:30pm.
It will also be our "pink" game to benefit Unite for HER, so be sure to wear your pink and bring
money for raffle tickets! It's URA Night, our URA U9s will play a half-time game, and it's also Senior Night!

The Patton Carnival is next Friday on May 5th from 2:30-7pm!  There will be games, tons of prizes and lots of food!  Don't forget the DJ, Photo booth and the Dunk Tank— silly string is back again so don't miss out!

Annual UCFEF Community Yard Sale Fundraiser
Date: May 6th 2017
Time: 8:00 am – 12 pm

Why Should Every UCFSD School Donate?
The Yard Sale benefits all UCFSD schools by supporting programs, classroom grants, and scholarships for students.  Foundation information at https://www.ucfedfoundation.org/
Donations needed for the sale:  Household items, antiques, sports equipment, furniture, good condition toys, outdoor items, etc. 
We cannot receive clothing donations, stuffed animals, scanners, printers, box TV's, copiers, mattresses
Donation drop-off is at Unionville Elementary on the following dates
April 28th 3:30-6:00
May 3rd 3:30-6:00
May 5th 3:30-6:00
Neighborhood pick up is also available from May 1st-5th 3:00-6:00 pm
