PAPERLESS REPORT CARDS

Within the next week, parents will be receiving a letter in the mail from
the high school with your personal SAM user id, password and directions
for viewing your student’s grades.  This is not new information, but we
are sending the information to you again to help ensure a smooth
transition to “paperless report cards.”     There will be no hard copies
of report cards sent home unless you have signed up to receive one (via
SAM) . Parents may print out a report card at home  under the heading in
Sam, “Extra, Extra” should you need one.   



SENIORS:   APPLICATION MATERIALS DEADLINES AT COUNSELING CENTER

Seniors who want college application materials mailed out by
Thanksgiving are reminded to bring their release forms, envelopes and
stamps to their counselors no later than Wednesday, Nov. 11th to allow for
the 10-day processing period.  Nov. 13th is the Counseling Center deadline
for applications with a Dec. 1st postmark deadline, and Dec. 1st is the
Counseling Center deadline for applications with a Dec. 15th postmark
deadline."

Silent Auction of twenty donated artworks
Sovana Bistro has prepared an "Evening of Art", a pre-fixe menu of $40 per
person to complement your enjoyment of the Unionville Art Gala on the
evening of Friday November 13th.  The prix fixe dinner will be offered
from 5-7pm on Friday November 13th; reservations required.
Terrain at Styers will have spent a week designing and building a
fantastical new entryway to the Unionville High School for the Art Gala.
You can't miss it!
Emmy award winning film artist D'Arcy Marsh has donated his film "Inferno:
A Painting by Jamie Wyeth" for viewing in the LGI....plus there are many
more surprises!

Live music provided by UHS students
Savory foods from local restaurants
Come and bring your family and friends to this exciting event on Friday
the 13th! Come again the following day to shop for wonderful artworks.
Proceeds go to support the UHS PTO, educational projects and programs at
the High School.

COMCAST LEADER AND ACHIEVERS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

Applications are now available for the 2010 Comcast Leader and Achievers
Scholarship Program. This scholarship is intended to recognize a high
school senior for their commitment to community service, academics and
demonstrated leadership. The recipient of this scholarship is eligible to
receive a one-time grant of $1000. Please see Ms. Vaughn in the Counseling
Center for an application. Applications must be received by November 30,
2009.


STUDENT DRIVER ADVISORY

This is the breeding time for Whitetail Deer. Translated, this means that
more deer will jump in front of cars in this 1st week of November than any
other time of the year. Combine this with WET LEAVES and you have
dangerous driving conditions.  BE SAFE, DRIVE DEFENSIVELY!!
