Please mark you calendars and come see the wonderful art created by our own talented Unionville students as well as amazing local and regional artists.  Offered works include ceramics, glass, jewelry, metalwork, oils, pastels, and watercolors. Join us either Friday night for live music and light appetizers from 6-9pm or Saturday from 11am-4pm.  Please note : For those whose schedules do not permit them to make the official show times, we are offering an unofficial "soft opening" from 3-6pm Friday evening during which time you may view and purchase art.
Take advantage of our newest feature - 100% Donation Items - which are offered to the public by our generous artists.  Full proceeds from the sale of any of these special items, priced well below full market value, benefit the UHS PTO.  This is a unique opportunity to own some outstanding art at a rare discount! Community Conversation: Keeping Our Schools Safe
We will be holding a Community Conversation on school safety on November 11 at 6:00 pm in the UHS cafeteria.  In 2013, responding to the lessons learned from Sandy Hook, our community came together for our last Community Conversation on safety.  A 27 point plan was adopted and implemented.  Recent events (weapons found on campus) and the District's response to them, have generated a lot of conversation throughout the community.  Its time to come together again, to review where we are and what else needs to be addressed as we remain ever vigilant about the safety of our children.
RSVP to Kim Van der Mooren kvandermooren@ucfsd.net
Light snacks and refreshments will be served

Free Prevention Training
FOCUS (Family Outreach Committee of the Unionville-Chadds Ford Schools) is part of the UCFEF and has been committed to provide awareness and educational opportunities for members of our district and community.
We would like to present a free opportunity offered online, until December 31, 2015, through a special grant given to the YMCA branch of Kennett Square. This prevention program teaches adults how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. This program is designed for individuals concerned about the safety of children as well as organizations that serve youth.
Here is how to register for Darkness to Light's Stewards of Children online training:
- Go to the address bar, type or copy the following: https://d2l.csod.com/selfreg/register.aspx?c=kennett%20area%20ymca%20branch
- Enter all fields and click "login"
- Once you have completed the registration process, a "Thank you" screen will appear. This will also instruct you to disable your pop-up blocker. If you need assistance with this, click the "click here" button for instructions. This can also be found by clicking the following link: https://host.softworks.ca/Agate3/blocker/disable-blockers.htm
- Now you are on your Personalized Training Center Dashboard
There is no cost to you through November and December 2015 and you may take this online program at your convenience.
Thank you to the YMCA of Kennett Square and the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District for making this opportunity possible.
Please contact Rose Hearn at Rosehearn@comcast.net with any questions.
PTO Fundraisers
Have you registered your Giant and Target cards yet?

FREE Money for Our School – Just a Few Clicks Away
Want to make money for UHS while doing your regular shopping? Both Giant and Target are literally giving money away to those who register their Giant cards and Target cards and designate UHS as their beneficiary school. Please take a minute or two to link your cards with the Giant A+ School Rewards program and the Target Take Charge of Education program. It's so simple and will help support your UHS students! We realize there were some problems signing up for the Giant program during the past few weeks, but the site is back up and running.

Giant A+ School Rewards
Follow instructions for registering your card and enter the School ID: 23978 when prompted to designate UHS as your recipient school. FYI, you will need to have your Giant card number handy when registering.
If you are already registered, you do not need to re-register. The program for this school year begins Oct. 9 – just in time for all of your holiday shopping!

Target Take Charge of Education Program
Link Your Target REDcard to Unionville High School and Target will give UHS 1% of all of your purchases through May 14, 2016. This is the LAST year of the Target program, so let's take full advantage of it!
Just go to https://www-secure.target.com/redcard/tcoe/home and Under "Search for your school," next to the red search box, click on "select by Target School ID," then enter 91509 as the school ID (right near the red search box). UHS should appear, and then you enter your first and last names and REDcard number and hit complete enrollment. It's that easy!
