Stopping the Flu Starts with You

School season is prime time for classes, homework, sports… and the flu. With the flu virus most active from October to May, getting vaccinated is the #1 way to prevent the flu and the fever, sore throat, body aches, and even serious health complications it can cause. We are partnering with the Chester County Health Department to offer a flu shot clinic to community members.

When:  Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 2:30 PM until 6:30 PM
Where: Unionville High School Cafeteria

For more information, visit Same day, onsite registration only. If you have health insurance, bring your cards. All insurance types, including medical assistance, are welcome. See Flyer for details  Annual Flu Clinic  at UHS Thursday, October 13th.pdf

After the Bell
Attention Parents: If you have a son or daughter in need of volunteer hours to meet the requirements of the National Honor Society -- or if you yourself enjoy making a difference in the community -- please consider volunteering for AFTER-THE-BELL. ATB is a not-for-profit after school program at Kennett Middle School. They are seeking both high school and adult volunteers for the Fall Cycle, which runs Tuesday - Thursday afternoons, September 27 through November 3. Volunteers are needed for as little as one or two hours per week. It's a great way to earn service hours or just do what you enjoy. They need volunteers to assist with sports programs, art and cooking classes, and many other great activities. Anyone interested in volunteering for AFTER-THE-BELL should contact Kathy Do at Thank you!

Volunteer Clearances- All parents PLEASE READ

The new Pennsylvania law regarding clearances for volunteers is in effect as of July 1, 2016. It is very important that ALL parents visit the webpage set up by the U-CF School District to determine whether or not they need clearances. There is no cost for the PA Child Abuse History Clearance or the PA State Police Criminal Report. If you have lived in PA longer than 10 years, you do not have to get the FBI Background Check, but you must sign a waiver form. If you have lived in PA less than 10 years, you must have an FBI Background Check and there is a charge for that.
Here is the UCFSD link with all the information
Whether or not you need state mandated clearances, the District requires ALL volunteers to fill out a Volunteer Agreement, which may also be found on the above link. The clearances and volunteer agreement must be filed with the main office at Unionville High School. If you have a child in another school in the district and have filed your papers in that school, please notify the UHS office that you have done so. The PTO will not have access to the content of your clearances.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our children safe and in following this new Pennsylvania Law.
