Julie Lythcott-Haims is a well-known author and speaker and she is in great demand across the country. The idea to bring her to our district came out of discussions at our district's Wellness Committee meetings and discuss one of her books-How to Raise an Adult . This is an exciting opportunity for our community. Here is the link to our registration site: https://howtoraiseanadult.

Deadline Approaching - Rotary exchange Student
Have you ever met a Rotary Exchange Student?
Beginning in 1927, Youth Exchange has been one of Rotary International's longest running programs to help Clubs achieve their international service goals and foster fellowship and goodwill.
Each year Rotary sponsors about 8,500 students from around the world to let them experience a year in another country and culture.
Right now our Rotary District is sponsoring 8 Inbound and 6 Outbound Exchange Students to/from Japan, Brazil, France and other countries. Maybe you met one at PETS or at District Conference?
Who is Eligible?
Rotary Youth Exchange is open to all high school students (Rotarians and non-Rotarians). The program is very affordable, and we do have need based scholarships available. Last year we had many more slots than students – and we want to identify more applicants this year.
You and your Club can get involved with Youth Exchange by:
- Recommending Exchange to an outstanding sophomore or senior high school student you know
- Volunteering to be a Host Family for an Inbound Student this year or next
- Getting to know one of our current Inbound Students and including them in a club or family activity
How to Apply:
Students interested in an Exchange for the next school year need to have their applications complete by mid-December this year to participate in the interview and selection process for NEXT school year (fall 2017).
Please see the attached brochure for more details – share it with your own club or other community groups.
