42nd Annual Unionville Art Gala -- November 17th (6pm-9pm) & November 18th (11am-4pm)

On Friday and Saturday, November 17th and 18th, UHS will play host to the 42nd Annual Unionville Art Gala. More than 60 professional local artists will be on hand to exhibit and offer their artwork for sale at this wonderful community event.  Additionally, artwork by our talented high school students will also be on display. For two, consequetive nights, the lobby of our school will be transformed into a vibrant art gallery complete with live music.  Opening night will feature light hors d’oeuvres and desserts for the patrons as they view the art, visit with the artists, and make their purchases. Please bring your family to this year's Art Gala.  Don't forget to invite your friends and neighbors and above all,  . . .

Please Volunteer To Help Out at the Event -- No Art Experience is Needed!

The Art Gala is the PTO's second largest fundraiser and helps fund a wide variety of educational enrichment projects at UHS, which enhance the overall educational experience of our students. In addition to using funds from this year's art gala to support UHS, the PTO will be donating 10% of the proceeds to the relief funds being raised to help our adopted school district, Hardin-Jefferson School District in Houston, whose schools were badly impacted by this summer's hurricanes and flooding.  Therefore, volunteering to make this year's event a success will make an even greater impact than before. We ask you to use the Sign Up Genius link below to volunteer and help make the 42nd Annual Unionville Art Gala our most successful event ever. This is an easy and impactful way to make a difference in the lives of your own children and those in need.  Thank you in advance for your support.

After Prom Meeting - November 2nd

Every year, Prom season has the most alcohol-related traffic fatalities for 16 to 19 year olds nationwide. Thankfully, since the Unionville After Prom started more than 20 years ago our students have not been one of those statistics.  The After Prom is a community effort to give our students a fun and safe alternative to engaging in risky behavior on prom night. We need parents from ALL grades to help in planning the 2018 After Prom and that planning starts NOW.  Please watch this 4 minute video showing highlights from last year's After Prom and read this article about our After Prom featured in the Philly Inquirer from 2012.

Please join us for our next planning meeting on Thursday, November 2 at 7pm in the UHS Cafeteria LGI (use the gymnasium entrance and it's the first door to the right in the vestibule).  If you would like to get involved, but cannot attend, please email Luci McClure luci.mcclure@gmail.com.  Thank you!

Amazing Book Sale Opportunity - Urgent Help Needed This Sunday

UHS PTO eNews
October 12, 2017

URGENT! Assistance Needed On Sunday, October 15th @ 2pm To Move Donated Books. Service Hours Awarded For Students.

The Used Book Sale is our second largest fundraiser. We are very fortunate to have 130 boxes of books donated for the sale, but we must move the books from the source and to the storage location by the end of the weekend.

We cannot pass up this opportunity and we need a minimum of 5 minivans or pickups or suvs to transport the books! Students who come along with parents to help will receive service hours! This will only take approximately 1 hour to 1.5 hours if we get enough volunteers.

We will meet at 2pm this Sunday, October 15th at Uniques & Antiques, 2500 Market Street, Aston, PA 19014 (this is approximately 35 minutes from UHS). Then we will load the books and unload them at our storage location across from the URA fields in Unionville.

If you can help, please respond asap via email or call Angela Bond-Blecher, Book Sale Chair  302-379-5705  angela-bond.blecher@dupont.com
